With magical lights, boutique shopping and even the odd reindeer featuring in Lincoln’s countdown to Christmas this year, it promises to be a delightful festive period in the city for events and activities. Whether it’s a romantic break or some quality family time, there is so much to see and do as the nights draw in. Here are some of the highlights to look forward to:

Christmas Lights Switch On (Thurs 19th November, 17:30-19:00 St Mark’s Shopping Centre, Lincoln High St)
Even the bah humbug brigade admit to enjoying the wonder of the Christmas lights of Lincoln each winter. With Christmas Carols and a message of goodwill from the Mayor, this is a great way to get into the festive spirit, while late opening hours mean you can also get cracking with your Christmas shopping list. Keep an eye out for Rudolph too!

Lincoln Christmas Market (3-6 December) & Late Night Christmas Shopping

Take to the cobbled streets of Lincoln’s gothic quarter for a fabulous 250 stalls offering the very best in food, drink, crafts and gifts. This is the ideal place to find uniquely different gifts for friends and loved
ones, while drinking in the seasonal ambiance and perhaps also a mulled wine or two! For updates and further info, see the official site: lincoln-christmasmarket.co.uk
Should you miss this
four day market however, there are still plenty of superb shops in Lincoln that stay open late (to 8pm, or 9pm in December) for Christmas shoppers each and every Thursday evening from Thurs 19th November to 17th December. This applies to stores on Lincoln High Street, the Waterside Shopping Centre and some stores in St. Marks Shopping Centre.
