Complex aromas of crushed flowers, plums and fresh porcini mushrooms with a hint of mint in the background. Full bodied, complex and long in the mouth with almost jammy fruit on the finish.

50. Montelbello, Badia a Coltibuono | Tuscany, Italy| Bottle - £67.50

This is a rare blend of nine indigenous grape varieties from Chianti. This results in a richly concentrated and complex wine, with black fruits, balsamic nuances and peppery spice. We visited this producer
in Sept 2023 and this was the most popular overall wine in the group of gathered restaurateurs and hoteliers.

Intense aromas of coffee, plum and raspberry. Vibrant on the palate with an excellent structure, concentrated sweet fruit and good freshness.

51. FSM, Castelle Vicchiomaggio | Greve in Chianti | Tuscany, Italy| Bottle - £190.00

This is a 100% Merlot wine from a steep south estate facing plot on the Matta family owned Vicchiomaggio estate, just a short distance from the beautiful town of Greve in Chianti. It is a very refined wine, very few bottles are produced and it is the very best expression of Merlot from the terroir of Vicchiomaggio.
Full bodied, intense flavours with a very rich and changing nose. Probably the finest red wine ever tasted by the hotel directors.
